Thank you to the incredible cast and crew of “9 Months” at the Moonlight Players Theatre in Clermont, Florida. The show was written and directed by Thomas J Kline. 9 Months is a romantic comedy which takes place in modern day and follows married couple Billy and Jenny McCain. The young couple’s lives are changed after they find they are expecting, which wasn’t a part of “the plan.” The show takes you through the process of a pregnancy with quirky Lamaze students and mood swings so big you have to laugh at the awkwardness of it. Leading cast members Bennett Webb and Sascha Mills had great chemistry and were lovely at showing affection without making this audience member feel uncomfortable (aside from the moans from the opening scene that was at full blackout). The set looked simple enough however, scene changes did require help from several stage hands and cast members but were well executed. My favorite set piece came and went between several scenes and I don’t want to ruin it so I’ll just say it was the calendar which gave the show a cinematic element that kept the movie lover inside me well engaged. Local theaters like the Moonlight Players Theatre build the foundation actors need to define who they are as artists and continue to grow to mature performers. Thank you again to the cast and crew. Ya boy says “Bravo!”
